Peterhead take to the road for the last time this season as they head to Broadwood to face Hamilton Academical in William Hill League One.
Although the Blue Toon have missed out on a play-off spot, they know they will be playing League One football next season but for their opponents it’s all to play for as they try to avoid the drop.
From Ryan Strachan: “Onto our last away game of the season on Saturday and it will be another stern test of our mentality against a team with everything to play for and who’ve picked up form at a good time. We’re under no illusion as to the difficulty and test Saturday brings where we were well beaten last time out down here. We have a lot to play for internally, one being an admirable 1st campaign so we do want to cement 5th spot either this week or next one way or another. We also have individual accolades such as Kieran pushing individual player of the season and top goalscorer. We’re looking forward to the game as much as we have things to play for, we also can be free in our approach and look to carry momentum and performance into next season.
Injury-wise we’ve a few that have all trained successfully this week that wasn’t expected. It’s been a difficult season on that front and one we will pick bones till we find a root cause but we have to make do with where we’re at for Saturday which is all bar Pete Pawlett and Cieran Dunne available. Positive news but also a little late. The overall conditioning of the team will be a main focus for next season”.
