Peterhead v Queen of the South match preview

Apr 17, 2026

Queen of the South are the visitors to Balmoor on Saturday as Peterhead head into the last three games of the season.

Sitting seven points ahead of Peterhead in fourth, the Blue Toon won’t give up on a play-off spot just yet as a win tomorrow could still make things interesting for the final two games against Hamilton and Kelty Hearts.

From Jordon Brown: “We can’t wait to be back at Balmoor on a Saturday for our penultimate home game of the season. It feels like a while since our last Saturday home game and the guys are determined to get back on track after this weeks disappointing results and finish strong.
We have to rise above that disappointment and look at the overall picture where we can keep the play off hunt alive going into the final 2 games. Of course we wanted to be closer to Queens going into this one but that won’t stop us putting our best foot forward and trying to take the game to them.
We are really proud of the whole squad as the season has progressed and it’s easy to forget 75% of the squad have had their first full year playing at league 1 level consistently. It’s a strong resilient group and this last 3 games will be a test of that, at worst we want to finish 5th in the league and continue to build on that into next season.
We know how tricky a game this is as Queens come up in strong form and will have the extra motivation of cementing the play offs and getting one over us after previous results.
The focus is on ourselves though and the squad is slightly stretched however eager to give our fans something back for the great support across the season. Adam, Steeley and Cammy will be late decisions if they are ready to play. Andy, Max and Dunny will likely be out the remainder of the season. And it’s been a tough week for young Henry who played through the pain barrier at East Fife last weekend, he was willing to play again Tuesday but some good work from Donal and the club doctor Gavin has identified unfortunately that he has Glandular Fever so is likely to also miss the last 3 games. We are gutted as I’m sure everyone has seen the positive impact he has had on and off the pitch with the group and we all send our best wishes that he has the quickest recovery possible as he has a big future ahead of him”
