Inverness Caley Thistle v Peterhead match preview

Dec 31, 2025

Peterhead travel north to the Highlands on Saturday to take on Inverness Caledonian Thistle in the William Hill League One, with a 3pm kick-off at the Caledonian Stadium.

The Blue Toon will be eager to bounce back after a disappointing home defeat to Cove Rangers at Balmoor last weekend. Managers Jordon Brown and Ryan Strachan will be looking for a more composed and disciplined performance from their side as they aim to get back to winning ways.

Inverness Caledonian Thistle currently sit top of the table midway through the campaign, but recent results suggest they may be vulnerable. Caley Thistle come into the match on the back of two consecutive defeats, offering Peterhead encouragement as they look to test the league leaders on their own turf.

It promises to be a challenging afternoon in the Highlands, but one that could provide an opportunity for Peterhead to make a statement with a strong response.

ICT have ground covers in place to protect the pitch therefore as it stands, this match will be going ahead.

If you are planning to travel to the match tomorrow, please keep an eye on updates from Police Scotland and the Met Office before setting off to ensure safe travel. Roads across northern and north-east Scotland are currently affected by wintry conditions, including snow and ice, and the Met Office has issued weather warnings for heavy snow and icy surfaces which could lead to travel disruption

From Jamie Mcnee: “Away to top of the league to kick off the new year, it doesn’t get much more difficult than that!

I actually really enjoyed our game and, probably more importantly, our performance in the home game although we eventually came up short. The weather was horrific and it was a proper battle from both teams.

The away game at the start of the season we felt like we let ourselves down quite a bit so we will be looking to improve in certain areas this time around and we know we have shown ourselves to be a proper team at times this season and stepping into this second half of the season it’s a major focus throughout the group to start seeing consistency across our fixtures.

We weren’t sure if the game would go ahead or not with the weather but by all accounts the pitch has been protected well and we should be in for another good game of football”.
