It is with profound disappointment that Peterhead Football Club addresses the following issue.
It has been reported that during Saturday’s Scottish Cup match, a Greenock Morton player was subjected to a racist remark. This behaviour is completely unacceptable and has no place at Balmoor Stadium or at any football venue.
The impact incidents like this can have, on individuals, on our club’s reputation, and on the wider community, cannot be understated. This conduct does not reflect the values of Peterhead FC or our supporters.
We are fully committed to taking firm action. Steps are already underway to identify the person responsible, and once confirmed, they will receive a lifetime ban from attending any fixtures at our ground.
Let there be no doubt: the actions of a single individual will not define Peterhead Football Club.
