Stenhousemuir make the trip to Balmoor this Saturday as Peterhead return to home action in William Hill League One, with the match kicking off at 3pm.
The Warriors arrive in the north-east sitting firmly inside the play-off positions in third place on 23 points. Gary Naysmith’s side will, however, be looking to respond after their last outing ended in defeat, bringing an impressive unbeaten run to a halt.
Peterhead, meanwhile, slipped to sixth following a frustrating draw against Montrose last weekend. Despite a determined display, the Blue Toon were forced to settle for a point after conceding a late equaliser to the Angus side.
With both teams eager to bounce back and maintain momentum in a tightly-contested league table, Saturday’s clash at Balmoor promises to be a competitive encounter.
From Ryan Strachan: “Tomorrow we look forward to more familiar opponents in Stenhousemuir. Since we locked horns with them 2 seasons ago, they have kicked on considerably and consistently shown they are one of, if not the strongest part-time teams in Scotland. From our perspective, we don’t believe we’re far away from competing at that level but doing it consistently is our next aim. We’ve plenty examples this season where consistency has tripped us up none more so than our trip to Stenny last time. We were fantastic 1st half and controlled the game only to be pegged back and very well beaten in the end. That game in a nutshell summed up where we were at back then and where we needed to get to. Stenny showing us how to grind out mediocre times and be effective when on top. We will be looking to improve on our home performance last week where we were just ok, not great nor poor by any stretch but didn’t do enough. At this level we need more to consistently get results but we were happy with progress as times gone by playing at par often resulted in losses. The team has had a good weeks training and we will be ready to go come 3pm Saturday.
Team news Cieran Dunne has now had ankle surgery. We wait for the recovery timeline. Pete Pawlett has now overcome his shoulder injury and will be part of the squad tomorrow. Cammy Smith is a late doubt as is David Wilson and Adam Carnwath. Other than this, we’re in a good place”.
