Cove Rangers v Peterhead match preview

Oct 31, 2025

Peterhead travel to the Balmoral Stadium on Saturday to face Cove Rangers in William Hill League One action, with kick-off set for 3pm.

This will be the second meeting between the sides this season, with the Blue Toon coming out on top 3–1 in the previous encounter at Balmoor.

Cove head into this fixture full of confidence after securing their first win of the season last weekend, a result that moved them to within two points of Kelty Hearts, who currently occupy ninth place in the league table.

Peterhead, meanwhile, will be eager to respond following a battling but ultimately fruitless 1–0 defeat to Caley Thistle last Saturday. Jordon and Ryan will be looking to guide their side back to winning ways tomorrow.

From Jordon Brown: “We can’t wait for the game tomorrow. It’s a really exciting one and a new one for us a group but also a really big one for the North East and it’s great to have this back as a league 1 fixture which is the level both clubs should be competing at as a minimum. It’s the shortest away trip the fans have had in a couple of years so we hope as always they are able to travel in numbers and we can reward them by backing up the 3 points we got in our last away game and also win at Cove for the first time.
Last week hurt for a number of reasons, mainly because we didn’t feel we deserved to lose the game. The improvements we are making week on week with still a depleted squad are there for everyone to see, whether it was competing with Caley on a level that was incomparable to the first meeting in Inverness or just the genuine feel of belief and togetherness and familiarity growing within the group as the league starts to take shape. All we can do is control what is in our hands and that is performance levels. We have had a good full week this week and worked hard on making that weekly improvements in what will be a tricky venue but one a number of the boys know the pitch and surroundings of. The boys are desperate to put more points on the board and compete at the top end of this league.
We are under no illusion of how tough it will be and are not fooled by Coves league position, they will be looking to make up for lost time and build on that first win last week. They have very dangerous players in attacking areas particularly with Adam
Emslie returning and then good experience around that core, guys we of course know well and will look to get the better of as we done at Balmoor.
Team news is pretty much as we were although Seb Ross has trained fully this week and comes into the squad which is a real boost as he started to hit the high levels we know he can hit prior to injury and family leave. Andy we will assess tomorrow and young Tom picked up knock playing with Partick during the week but the long term group of Pete, Dunney, Adam remain out. Pete is itching to go and is back in non-contact training with the group but we have to take it carefully on advice from the surgeon. Div also remains out with calf injury”.
