Stenhousemuir v Peterhead match preview

Sep 17, 2025

Peterhead hit the road again this Saturday as they head to Ochilview for the second time this season as they face Stenhousemuir in William Hill League One with a 3pm KO.

Gary Naysmith’s men are flying high as they sit atop the league table, unbeaten in five matches. Games between the two sides are always highly competitive contests, and Saturday will prove another steep test for the Blue Toon as they strive to take three points home to Balmoor after the disappointment of a late equaliser last Saturday as Hamilton Accies sealed a point at the death.

From Jordon Brown: “On the road again to another familiar opponent to ourselves and our squad over the last couple of years. As always, we are looking forward to the challenge and building week on week what has been really encouraging levels of performances, mixing it against 8 full time teams now across the season, albeit not quite getting the league points we are striving for.
We have had a really good full week together again with the local sessions then got through our full preparation as a whole group and hope to see the fruitions of that again as we have done every time we have had that full week in between league games.
It may not be a full time team, but it is a Stenny team that come into this on a strong unbeaten run and deservedly find themselves top of the league as a result so we are under no illusions how tough a task this is and one we have to be at the top of our game as a whole group. They have shown incredible consistency from the league 2 title win, to the league 1 play offs last season and then the way they have started this but that is a task our guys are relishing facing.
Fine margins become even more apparent as you move up the leagues and we seen that last weekend where we were so close to finishing a number of other chances we created and then holding out for what would have been an excellent 3 points, and that is what has driven our preparation this week as we once again look to replicate that level of performance and make that important improvements at both ends of the pitch.
Away form is of course on our mind and picking up results on the road to build runs will be so important to achieving our targets this season, there would be no better place to start than tomorrow with the league being so tight at this stage. Montrose and Spartans games were big improvements in terms of being more like a performance we know this squad are capable of so we hope the fans can again travel in their numbers and help us get over that line away from home.
Squad wise is as we were with Danny back light running again. Competition in the squad is healthy and we must use that to our advantage as we approach a week where we will face 3 teams that we want to be picking up points against in both league and cup”.
