Peterhead face familiar foes tomorrow as they make the trip to the Capital to take on the Spartans in the KDM Evolution Trophy.
Dougie Samuel’s team have had a good start to their League campaign as they currently sit top of the League Two table with three wins from four matches and they will be looking to continue this form into Tuesday night’s cup match.
After a good win against Cove Rangers on Saturday, the Blue Toon will want to kick on but know how difficult a task it is facing Spartans on their own patch in what will be a highly competitive game.
From Ryan Strachan: “Straight back into action this Tuesday with a difficult tie against a Spartans team we know very well. Saturday past was a satisfying day all round. The sun was out, pitch immaculate, new signing for the supporters viewing, a bit of needle between two local north east teams and a very strong home performance to enjoy. We had an excellent week’s training and analysis which obviously this week will now be hampered but the players must take the feel good vibes into cup action tomorrow. Yes there will be changes to our line up as this cup is creating difficulties with player load and travel but we will still travel with the majority of our squad with belief we can take points away from a really difficult venue.
Team news there are a number of players again that won’t be risked, or carrying minor knocks. Cieran Dunne continues to rehab and we hope he’s very close to a return. Pete Pawlett faces estimates 3 months out after having surgery on his pectoral. Jason remains sidelined but is ok and continues to follow concussion protocol. David Wilson is ill but we hope is available for the squad. Young Arran Smith should be available to support the squad after recovering from an ankle injury”.
