Peterhead v Aberdeen B

Aug 11, 2025

Peterhead kick off the first of six matches in the opening round of the KDM Evolution Trophy with a visit from Aberdeen B on Tuesday night at Balmoor.

The Blue Toon will look to bounce back after a defeat up in the Highlands on Saturday where they faced a full-time Inverness Caley Thistle side, but won’t take anything for granted in what will be another competitive match against the Aberdeen colts.

From Ryan Strachan: “After our loss on Saturday against a very good Inverness team we don’t have much time to analyse and recover so we’ve evaluated the squad and where we’re at for this stage of the season. There will be a number of changes to the line up and squad for tonight’s game that’s not based on form, opponent or the cup itself but is based on priorities, logistics and equal load of player contributions thus far. A number of lower league management teams have made their opinions quite clear on the reformatting of this cup and we face similar views.

Aberdeen will bring a very good squad up with them tonight as they have a wealth of 17-21 year olds that we’re more than aware of and would have liked at our own disposal. We must be at our very best as we saw last month as a young team came up and were very competitive for 80 minutes. We expect tonight’s team to be far more experienced of lower league football with the inclusion of some first team members.

Team news, Pete Pawlett has a bicep injury and is due for review this week, Cieran Dunne is also recovering but seeing a specialist this week, Arran Smith who would’ve played tonight will also miss out due to a knock picked up in training last week. We have a number of players carrying respective knocks / strains so will be left out and rested. This will be an opportunity for others who have had slightly less minutes or playing catch up to impress”

Tickets prices have been reduced for this match and can be purchased prior to KO from the ticket office at Balmoor or online here
