Forfar Athletic v Peterhead

Mar 26, 2025

Peterhead head to Station Park this Saturday to face Forfar Athletic in William Hill with a 3pm KO.

Jim Weir’s team come into this fixture off the back of three wins from their last four, their last loss was at home against the Spartans. Sitting ninth in the league table with only two points separating themselves and bottom placed Bonnyrigg Rose, Forfar have everything to play for as they look to avoid the end of season relegation play-offs. The Blue Toon are unbeaten in eight and will want to secure the three points to cement their place at the top of the league table in the all-important run-in.

From Ryan Strachan: “Another positive week to sit on, form has been really good recently and it’s brought a further togetherness within the group. You can see what it means to the players at the end of last week and the interaction with the supporters was excellent for the club. Our supporters have gathered in numbers recently and we hope to excite them again this Saturday with another good performance.

Last weekend was a grind as each and every single game is this season with all competing still for their own reasons. We were quite proud as a management team with the response to losing our 1st goal in over 4 games so early. It speaks highly of the squad we have and the mentality within.

This week we play a team in good form fighting at the opposite end of the table so a very dangerous game for us. We’ve had 3 very close encounters with Forfar this season and don’t expect anything less on Saturday. Forfar always present a good physical battle and have some very talented players over the pitch we’re very well aware of. We must continue to concentrate our energy and focus on performance hopefully resulting in further points on the board at this critical stage.

Team news, Peter Pawlett is very close to returning after several ankle injuries. Blessing Oluyemi has picked up an eye injury so won’t be part of the squad. Ben Armour has fully trained this week and feels good so should be back in the squad in the coming weeks. Everyone else is in good condition for this stage of the season”.
