Peterhead v Edinburgh City

Mar 12, 2025

Peterhead welcome Edimburgh City to Balmoor this Saturday as second face third in William Hill League 2 with a 3pm KO.

Edinburgh City are the form team in the league with five wins from their last six outings propelling them into third spot only four points behind second placed Peterhead. Michael McIndoe will be looking for more of the same from his team who grabbed a last minute winner against nine men Bonnyrigg Rose last weekend to head home with all three points.

The Blue Toon are still in the hunt for top spot as they sit only three points behind title hopefulls, East Fife. Unbeaten in six games, they will be hoping to convert a recent run of draws into wins to replace the Fifers at the summit of League two in the all important run-in.

From First Team Coach Jamie McNee: “I think everybody at the club is aware of how important each game is becoming, 8 cup finals as the cliché goes. Strachs made the point to the group that it’s only 8 cup finals if we continue to win and be in a position to affect things at the top of the table.

Edinburgh are the in-form team in the league and have gotten themselves into a really good position coming into the important end of the season so we are more than aware of their strengths. That being said, we are also very aware of our own strengths and how good a group we have so we are all eagerly looking forward to what should be a really competitive game.

Weather conditions look favourable and the pitch will have been untouched since the Elgin game a fortnight ago so only the 22 players on the pitch should be a factor in the performance”.
