It’s back to Balmoor again on Saturday as Stirling Albion visit in William Hill Legue 2 action with a 3pm KO.
Alan Maybury’s men have’nt played since 4th January after their last fixture on the 11th fell foul of the icy weather. The Binos lost 2-0 away to Clyde in their last league fixture leaving them sitting 5th in the table whereas the Blue Toon have picked up 6 points already this week which has them sitting 2nd, 2 points behind league leaders East Fife.
From Jordon Brown: “It is great to be back at Balmoor again so soon after a really positive result on Tuesday which came with a mammoth effort on and off the park. We know the importance of picking up wins at this stage of the season when conditions can be tougher and we are delighted to be going into tomorrow off the back of 2 wins and 2 clean sheets. We know we can be better in the final third but this will come as we strive to improve and work on this each week. At times earlier in the season the goals and forward play were coming off more however defensively we lost concentration or gave easy goals away so it is all about finding the balance.
Stirling are a good experienced side who we have again had really close games with, they have strengthened in the window and we fully expect them to improve their league position in the second half of the season. We have done the usual preparations on them however they also come here really fresh and likely eager to get back on the pitch having had a couple of call offs. So similarly to Stranraer, we must be ready to combat their energy from minute 1.
Squad wise we have had good recovery days to ensure the guys are in the best condition possible come 3pm tomorrow, the hunger is there to make a good week a great one! Squad wise we add Cammy back in which is a real positive as we know how important a player he has been and will be in this next few months, we need him at the peak of his game so we will be sure we utilise him in the right way after previous setbacks. Other than that we are as is from Tuesday and hopefully get another good backing from the fans”.
