Bonnyrigg Rose are the visitors to Balmoor this Saturday 21st in Willam Hill League 2 with a 3pm KO.
Callum Elliot’s men currently sit 7th in League 2 and will be looking to bounce back after a 5-1 loss to Forfar Athletic in their last league outing. The last game between the Blue Toon and the Rose at New Dundas Park back in August resulted in a 1-0 win for the toon, Ben Armour with the only goal.
From Co-Manager Jordon Brown: “Back to Balmoor tomorrow for the final time this year and there is a real determination to send all the loyal fans and everyone associated with the club home happy for Christmas! On reflection I think again we have made some really good forward steps this year and continue to fight and battle for promotion at the top end of this very competitive league which in our eyes gets harder year on year. The players and staff are improving and learning all the time and striving for that concrete success. We know the importance of this period and can take lessons from last year as we stumbled through this couple of weeks with some disappointing results which in the end cost us by the end of the season. It looks like conditions will once again be tricky on a Saturday! But it will not effect our game plan as we want to continue to implement a clear way of playing with the quality of player we have and ultimately securing 3 important points.
No one is more frustrated with Tuesday night than Andy, who has been outstanding since returning from his serious injury early in the season. He’s experienced enough now to know it was unnecessary to do what he done giving the ref an opportunity to penalise him and leave his teammmates to play a half with 10 men but at the same time on reflection there is a harsh feeling around it but everyone will rally together again tomorrow like they done 2nd half and look to make it 7 points from 9 this week.
Bonnyrigg come into this probably with a similar frustrated feeling as us and looking to bounce back on their previous result as prior to that they were the form team in the league and since they have been in the division,we have had 5 really tight battles with them and expect no different tomorrow.
Andy will serve 1st of his 2 games tomorrow, Scott and Jordan still miss out but the real positive is that Cammy has recovered strongly and will be in the squad tomorrow. Next time we are at home in 2 weeks time we will also have Oliver available for selection which will be a good boost, he’s worked extremely hard behind the scenes on his fitness”.
