Clyde v Peterhead

Dec 6, 2024

Peterhead head to New Douglas Park tomorrow to take on Clyde in a William Hill League 2 fixture.

Clyde currently sit 9th in the league table on 12 points after picking up a win in their last league outing under the new management of Darren Young.

The Blue Toon will be looking to head home with the spoils tomorrow after a frustrating afternoon v Montrose in the Scottish Cup last weekend which showed a dominant display but ultimately came out with a loss while the Gable Endies progreesed to the next round.

From Co-Manager Jordon Brown: “I think everyone that has watched us regularly or been to a few games can see that the team is improving and gelling together week on week which is providing great consistency in levels of performance however unfortunately isn’t resulting in the outcomes and points we would like to be getting. It is important we keep believing in the strength of the group and also working on the many areas we of course have to keep improving on. Not conceding as many goals is of course the easy one and a big part of that is focus and concentration and controlling what we can control. The fans are a big part of this and their support and feedback through the last couple of frustrating results has been excellent and we hope that continues.
It’s been a long wait for league action again and it will be possibly our hardest game of the season yet tomorrow, Clyde have picked up under a strong new manager with good success and experience in the league and there always seems to be an extra edge in these Clyde games.
Each week brings a different challange in this league and no game is easy no matter how the league table looks. It’s a crucial period of the season and we are determined to end the year on a high and maintain high levels of performance which in turn will provide us the results and points we crave.
Team news wise Cammy obviously came off with a tweaked hamstring last weekend and will miss tomorrow, being the top professional he is he will look to minimise the amount of games he misses and alongside Donal we will manage and support him in this without rushing. With his absence it gives opportunity to the show the strength in depth we belief in and it’s up to players that come in to grasp their chance and have a real impact on our season. The good news is Danny and Ben will be back in the squad, Ryan is still trying to get to the bottom of an ongoing issue”.
