The Spartans are the visitors to Balmoor on Saturday with a 3pm KO.
Currently sitting 6th in the League table after losing their last two games, Douglas Samuel’s men will be looking to put that right tomorrow.
The last meeting between the two sides was back in August and ended in a stalemate 0-0 draw.
From Co-Manager Jordon Brown: “This is a huge game in our season and one we can’t wait for. There is real determination and hunger within the group to get back to winning ways in the league and we know how important this next period into the new year is. First up tomorrow is very familiar foes in Spartans who we shared 7 really competitive games with last season. There is loads of quality throughout both teams and both squads would not look out of place higher up the pyramid. However the task of getting out this division is at the forefronts of our minds and we are determined to put some wrongs from the last few weeks to rights, particularly a home league defeat last time out.
There has been rotations within the squad that means everyone now within the squad, outwith Olly who isn’t registered, is now fighting for their place in the 11 and up to match speed. This can only bode well for the testing couple of months ahead where conditions can get tougher and teams start to get some familiarity and work each other out resulting in even more tighter competitive games. Fine margins are something we speak about a lot within the group and we know we need to be on the right side of them tomorrow to give ourselves the best chance of winning the game. In the past 4 league games these have just escaped us slightly resulting in the dip in form. There will be highs and lows throughout the season and we know we must be resilient in tougher times.
Squad news as mentioned is pretty similar to how we have been. Jordan started running this week and unfortunately Danny’s injury that forced him off last week is a bit more serious than we had hoped, he will likely miss 4-6 weeks but I am sure with his fitness levels he will be looking to keep this to a minimum. Cieran Dunne had a knock last weekend that meant he couldn’t train but is eager to make tomorrow so we will make decision on that”.
