Peterhead v Forfar Athletic

Aug 9, 2024

Peterhead return to Balmoor this Saturday as they take on Forfar Athletic in the first home league game of the 24/25 season with a 3pm KO.

Ray McKinnon’s side opened their campaign with a draw at home to Clyde last week and will be looking to go one better when they come up against the Blue Toon side for the first time this season.

From Co-Manager Ryan Strachan – “Tomorrow’s game can’t come soon enough, as soon as that final whistle went last weekend the entire weeks focus was on Forfar, we can’t wait to make our home league debut this year. The team are all excited for the return to Balmoor and to play on our home pitch. Some of the new guys are also looking forward to making their home league debuts. Last week was a really tough, hard-fought game at a tricky venue and we will fully expect the same sort of opponent tomorrow. Forfar caused us problems at Balmoor last season so we are aware of their threats. Forfar have some excellent players and will pose a physical threat also. We want to stamp our authority like we did last year for the majority with our solid home form, each game, quarter and season is about continual improvement so we can’t sit still and expect results, we must go get them and that starts with working hard and doing the basics as a team. Something we did very well last week with good organisation and leadership.

Team-wise we are okay. Caleb Goldie won’t travel due to suspected concussion and a minor injury albeit we’re taking a cautious approach. Ben Armour is struggling to shirk off an ankle injury picked up two weeks ago which is a shame after his confidence boost last week but is fine for the squad. Kieran Shanks remains out but is making progress. Jordon remains suspended from the squad. I am now back fully training”.

The man in the middle tomorrow will be ref Gary Hanvidge.
