Peterhead travel to New Central Park tomorrow, Tuesday 23rd July to take on Kelty Hearts in the Premier Sports Cup with a 7.45pm KO.
The last meeting between the two sides was back in April 2023 in a League One clash at Kelty Hearts which ended in a 2-1 win for Kelty. Co-Managers Jordon Brown and Ryan Strachan were in interim charge of that game and although the Blue Toon put on a spirited display, a 93rd minute goal won the game for the hosts. Although a league now separates the two teams, Jordon and Ryan will be looking for more of the same tomorrow evening after a dominant 4-2 win over Elgin City on Saturday.
Coach Jamie McNee ahead of tomorrow’s game:
Looking forward to another competitive game so close off the back of a positive result, and performance, on Saturday. Kelty themselves are off the back of a massive result against a top team at home so they’ll be more than motivated to continue that form. I expect a really competitive game with two teams who tend to try and wrestle possession. I know their manager and 5/6 of their players really well so I’m well aware of how sharp and comfortable with the ball they’ll be, and it’s our job to not only match, but better that ourselves.”
