Peterhead v The Spartans

May 10, 2024

Peterhead are at Balmoor today in what could potentially be The Blue Toon’s final match of the season.

Kicking off at 3pm against The Spartans, Peterhead are required to win in order to progress to the playoff final. After a late penalty secured the win for The Spartans on Tuesday evening at Ainslie Park, the Edinburgh side travel north for the second leg.

Ahead of Saturday’s match, Ryan Strachan highlights the importance of a positive performance:

“Tuesday was disappointing for everyone involved and the magnificent support that travelled with us. We played well in the game and were really comfortable but come away with nothing in the end. I felt sorry for the players, all their hard work, sacrifice and commitment to be taken away from them at the end but that’s football. We know the challenge ahead and are excited to make a positive outcome of Saturday, it’s a massive challenge considering who we’re playing against but we will give it our best go. There is a place in the final at stake so we need to play with passion hunger and commitment but at the same time not get involved in emotional warfare, remain calm and disciplined. Hopefully we can get the bluetooners to make some noise and help us on to victory.”

With Peterhead needing to win to continue their season and play for the chance of promotion, it’s all to play for at Balmoor.
