Peterhead v Forfar Athletic

Apr 12, 2024

Peterhead are at Balmoor today as The Blue Toon face Forfar Athletic in a 3pm kick off.

Tensions soared the last time the two teams met in the reverse fixture at Station Park when the match resulted in a 3-3 draw after Alfie Stewart’s injury time goal pulled The Blue Toon level. Away from the previous result, both teams have come out on top this season in this fixture; with Peterhead winning at Station Park and Forfar taking home the three points during their last trip to Balmoor back in December. The Blue Toon go into Saturday’s match having not suffered defeat in their last five matches; whilst the visitors have lost in their last two outings.

From Ryan Strachan:

“Last week was positive in that we got a game played, no one got injured and we maintained our unbeaten run at a venue that was extremely tricky, possibly the worst we’ve ever played at condition-wise.

It’s important now we get back to how we want to play, continue our momentum and finish the season well. We’ve came along way and are still developing as a team but we need to maintain form levels whilst getting players back for the final stretch.

Forfar have presented a difficult test every game we’ve played them this season, we’re level on points with them thru the 3 games so far so we have an opportunity to improve on that at home. We fully expect another difficult test like every game is in this league and they will also be up for the match so we will need to be at it from the start. We’ve a strong home record and we’re getting closer to how we need to be so the squad is excited about playing back at Balmoor today.

Team news we have Conor O’Keefe, Danny Strachan, Jack Brown and Scott Ross all fully recovered from injury. David Wilson stepped up his rehab this week, Andy McCarthy is recovering well. Kieran Gibbons and Conner Duthie remain sidelined but Conner is doing some light running work at training”.
