Peterhead v Bonnyrigg Rose

Feb 19, 2024

After a quick turnaround from a dramatic match at Station Park on Saturday, Peterhead return to Balmoor tomorrow where The Blue Toon host Bonnyrigg Rose Athletic.

With an evening kick off time of 19:45, Peterhead will aim to replicate the second half performance witnessed on Saturday against Forfar as The Blue Toon take on their next opponents. Having played Bonnyrigg twice this season thus far and producing a win and a draw, Bonnyrigg find themselves in sixth place; thirteen points adrift of second placed Peterhead.

After a game of two halves on Saturday, head coach Jamie McNee reviews Saturday’s performance and looks ahead to Tuesday night:

“We are looking forward to a game so soon after a very positive end to Saturday’s game.

I actually felt we started the game well, first twenty minutes or so until they scored. We had a lot of the ball and looked dangerous. Everybody knew at half time that regardless of any positives early in the game 3-0 was a totally unacceptable score line. Second half, we came out and the 11 on the park got a quick goal back which showed they were up for the battle. Subs came on and added another spark, and we managed to get a point, showing real depth of the squad.

Hopefully we can start tomorrow’s game the way we finished Saturday.”

With Peterhead digging deep to secure a point at Station Park, and Bonnyrigg Rose succumbing to East Fife at the weekend, three points will be crucial for The Blue Toon in their efforts to pull away from The Spartans.
