Peterhead travel to Borough Briggs tomorrow to face Elgin City in The Blue Toon’s final match of 2023.
After suffering defeat during a dramatic fixture against Forfar last weekend, Peterhead will be on the search for redemption. Elgin City currently occupy 9th place in league 2, 20 points adrift of 2nd place Peterhead.
Jordon Brown has his say ahead of the Elgin clash that will round off the year:
“The guys are all itching to get back out there and show a reaction to last weeks disappointment. The whole circumstances around the game last week were frustrating as everyone around the club and community had put so much effort into getting the game on and we know we need to do better. The injury to David was another big blow but we were all relieved to get some good news after the game and he is now recovering following concussion protocols. It is important we show an immediate response tomorrow in what will be a tough game at a difficult venue, the game earlier in the season will have no bearing as Elgin have been improving under new management and conditions I’m sure will be a lot more challenging. The first 6 months of the year were clearly a major disappointment however we are all keen to finish what has been a highly positive second half of 2023 in the right manner for everyone connected with the club and we know that 3 points are key to set us on the right foot for a busy January. It has been a testing time with key bodies missing at different stages over the last couple of months but hopefully we are starting to get some better news on that front heading into the new year. Jason Brown and Scott Ross will have late fitness tests, Rory McAllister returns from suspension but unfortunately David Wilson joins Kieran Gibbons and Conner Duthie on the sidelines.”
The Blue Toon will look to end the year on a high in the search of 3 points against Saturday’s opponents Elgin City.
