After a weekend off due to unplayable conditions at Balmoor, Peterhead travel to New Dundas Park to face Bonnyrigg Rose FC.
Entering the fixture against the South Edinburgh side, 10 points and three places in League 2 separate the two teams. The Blue Toon came out on top the last time the teams met, in a 2-1 victory at Balmoor in September.
Ahead of the trip to Bonnyrigg, Ryan Strachan shares his optimism:
“Last week was frustrating because it was a game we wanted to play against a team competition at the top end of table. The advice was the pitch was close to being playable with opportunity to further thaw out hence the later call off but unfortunately it didn’t make it. The positive is the players and pitch gets a small rest and we should now be refreshed and ready to go again. Some minor niggles have repaired which is also good.
Tomorrow is a sticky fixture against a difficult team who played well on their visit to balmoor. The conditions could be a challenge tomorrow with weather elements and a pitch we have never visited before.
It’s important we get a good performance after a small league layoff and get back to business in a positive manner.
As for team news we are quite healthy after the layoff. We have everyone available for selection apart from Conner Duthie and Kieran Gibbons.”
As The Blue Toon visit Bonnyrigg Rose in search of a vital 3 points, last week’s match between Stenhousemuir and tomorrow’s opponents saw a home victory for Stenhousemuir, allowing them to extend their lead at the top of League 2 by 3 points.
Last weekend’s postponed match against Dumbarton is now due to be played on Tuesday 9th January, kicking off at 19:45 at Balmoor.
