Peterhead travel South on Saturday to Station Park where we face Forfar Athletic at 3pm. The Blue Toon will search for their 6th League 2 win of the season and their 5th consecutive, following a positive spell of results.
Forfar Athletic currently sit 7th in League 2 with 8 points separating the two teams. When both sides have clashed in the past, points have been shared equally with 12 wins a-piece and 7 draws in all competitive matches.
With Forfar scoring late on in the match to secure a draw vs East Fife last week and Peterhead brushing Elgin City aside with 6 goals last weekend, Ryan Strachan reveals how The Blue Toon plan to go about their business in Forfar:
“Last weekend was a great weekend for all associated with Peterhead Football Club. The margin of victory and manner was something our supporters haven’t been used to recently. We want to keep the foot on the pedal and not stop in any game; irrespective of being 5-0 up or 1-0 down. This team will fight till the end and that’s all we can ask.
We’re now 4 wins on the bounce which is excellent for confidence. We’ve won all types of games recently; tough venues, home, away, 3 of 4 journeys in September were near the borders and we’ve gotten through that quite well, credit to the team – everyone has stepped up when needed.
Tomorrow presents another difficult challenge. Forfar are a great team, good at home and looks like weather will be a challenge. Results have picked up recently so we are also in confidence. We will travel with a game plan that hopefully executes a result at a sticky away venue. All we can ask from the group is the commitment and the same effort they have been putting in and results will naturally take care of themselves. We’ve a good honest group, no one is getting carried away, we’ve made a good start but it’s only a start.”
With a fixture that will undoubtedly be a tough test for The Blue Toon, Peterhead will look to continue their winning streak against Forfar, keeping our position as League 2 leaders.
