Peterhead FC welcome The Spartans to Balmoor on Saturday in matchweek 4 of Cinch League 2.
The Blue Toon kick off at 3pm and will look to maintain their positive start to the league campaign whilst unbeaten and top of the league. Since promotion to League 2, Spartans have proved to be fierce competitors as they grabbed a recent victory at Balmoor in the ViaPlay Cup, and whilst they sit 5th in the league, they will look to continue their own unbeaten streak.
Player manager Jordon Brown shares his thoughts ahead of Saturday’s match:
“Really looking forward to being back at home tomorrow and looking to get our 1st home win of the season and putting in a good performance for the fans and volunteers that attend the home games. The guys are of course in a positive mood and sitting top of the league is where we want to be but the tests will get harder each week so we need to improve each week on the previous. Of course we have been beaten by them (Spartans) already but that should also mean we know what to expect more than we have had on anyone else this year. This is a chance to show that we have taken strong steps in the right direction since our last meeting.
Team news wise, Kieran Shanks is obviously suspended, Scott Ross is ill, however Conor O’Keefe, Caleb Goldie, Stuart McKenzie and Robert Ward who have all had knocks, should be okay. Danny Strachan should be fit for the bench and Kieran Gibbons is progressing week on week. Of course we have been beaten by them already but that should also mean that we know what to expect more than we have had on anyone else this year. This is a chance to show we have taken strong steps in the right direction since our last meeting.”
Peterhead will play their 2nd league match at Balmoor this season as The Blue Toon seek revenge over the Edinburgh outfit who ran out 1-2 champions the last time the two sides met at Balmoor.
