Peterhead FC take on Falkirk FC in their 4th and final match of the ViaPlay League Cup today at 3pm.
After only picking up one point in the competition so far, The Blue Toon travel south to the Falkirk Stadium sitting 5th in the group with their opponents leading them by four points in 4th place. Both Ryan Strachan and Andy McCarthy are available for selection after serving their suspensions against Spartans FC.
Player manager Ryan Strachan shares his views ahead of the match away to Falkirk: “Falkirk is a really difficult challenge, but it’s one we’re looking forward to. It’s a ground that we really struggled at last year but this year we have ultimate belief in the group. Today we’re forced a hand with a couple of changes again but we’re two players stronger with the return of the suspensions so we look to go down and put a positive imprint on the game. We’re under no illusion the following week is what we need to be ready for, today is a bit of a dead rubber but we’ll be really competitive as we have been in all our games. It was disappointing midweek not to pick up points but that’s football sometimes and we move on and we’ll look to put a positive performance on today, hopefully get some points and put smiles on some supporters’ faces who make the journey”. Peterhead’s last win against Falkirk was in 2022 when The Blue Toon ran out 1-0 winners at Balmoor in League 1.
After narrow defeat to fellow League 2 side Spartans, Peterhead will look to end their league cup campaign on a high against Falkirk.
