Peterhead FC are delighted to announce that we’ve agreed terms for the signing of former Aberdeen FC youth player Arran Smith on a three-year contract.
The 16-year midfielder is a local lad who has been training with the team and has featured in both the Buckie Thistle and Banks O’Dee friendlies impressing the management team with his attitude and desire to play for his home town club.
Peterhead FC Co-Manager Jordon Brown said, “We are delighted Arran has chosen to sign for Peterhead as there was competition from SPFL and HL clubs and we feel it is a hugely important one that emphasises we are looking to secure the best local talent even at the age of 16. It was a rare opportunity for us to be presented with this chance and it’s a credit to Natty Porter’s hard work behind the scenes as he was instrumental in linking us up with Arran. We hope Arran is the first of many talented youngsters who see there is an opportunity long term at Peterhead. We are excited to help and be a part of his progression over the next few years and will ensure he is given the correct platforms along the way to do this. He has appeared now in a few friendlies as part of our first team squad and has not looked out of place.”
Arran becomes the 21st player to commit to Peterhead FC for season 2023-2024 and we look forward to working with him over the next three years.
