Peterhead FC are delighted to announce the contract extension of goalkeeper Sandy Wood on a one-year deal.
Sandy arrived at Balmoor last summer and featured twice against Raith Rovers in the Viaplay Cup and Elgin City in the SPFL Trust Trophy.
The 37-year-old acted as a good back-up to Jack Newman, Tom Ritchie and Stuart McKenzie last season and will look to provide competition to McKenzie when competitive fixtures begin in just under a months time.
Peterhead FC co-manager Ryan Strachan said his value to the dressing room was an important aspect behind the decision to keep the experienced shot-stopper.
He said, “We’re glad to get Sandy sorted, it’s been a challenge due to Sandy’s work commitments but we got there and we’re delighted to get this over the line. His commitment and value to the dressing room was key for retaining him, he was always available when asked last season.”
Sandy becomes the 19th player to commit to Peterhead FC for season 2023-2024 and we look forward to having him with us again for another season.
