Peterhead FC are delighted to announce that we have secured the services of striker Aaron Reid on a season-long loan from Aberdeen.
Reid started off as a youngster at the Dons before continuing his youth development at Montrose, Reid then transitioned to adult football and moved to Turriff United on loan in March 2022 initially before making his move permanent in the summer of 2022. The 19-year-old made his mark on adult football with 22 goals from 30 appearances which caught the attention of Aberdeen who picked him up last January.
The striker was on loan at Elgin City in the second half of last season where he scored four goals in ten appearances for the Borough Briggs side.
With Tom Ritchie and Ryan Duncan coming on loan to the Blue Toon in recent seasons and using their periods as a springboard for their development, Reid will be hoping for the same as he looks to impress at Pittodrie.
Peterhead co-manager Ryan Strachan said, “Aaron is a young talent who offers us something different, he’s a tall and physically strong striker. His goal tally in the Highland League was excellent and his end-of-season form at Elgin made it clear that we wanted his services, he’s an exciting player and will only get better. Peterhead will allow him to do this as it has with many young Aberdeen talents in the past.”
Peterhead FC looks forward to working with Aaron and welcoming him to Balmoor as we get ready for pre-season training and the upcoming season.
