General News

  • We were delighted to receive another club vehicle to complete our fleet this week. Paul from Millbank Coaches/Central Taxis very kindly donated a 16-seater mini-bus to be used by the team for getting to and from training. The vehicle was once agin liveried in our club colours by Richard from Signature Signs, thank you to both local companies for their continued support and generosity towards PFC.
  • We had a local scaffolding and construction company visit the club to carry out a survey as to the feasibility of creating a separate mini-stand for our young Toon supporters. There were however some safety concerns raised therefore it’s back to the drawing board but we will continue to work towards a solution before the start of next season.
  • Our February Platinum Draw was carried out in our hospitality suite on Saturday 25th and here are the winners:
           £500 168 Eric Fulton
           £200 137 Claire Jamieson
          £100 122 Alan Harris
If you would like to sign up for the monthly draw, all the details can be found on our website – you’ve got to be in it to win it!
  • All at Peterhead FC were very sad to hear of the passing away of former player Frank Krukowski. Frank was the hard-tackling, super-fit midfield lynchpin of a very successful Peterhead side for 8 years in the late 70s and early 80s.
From Natty Porter: “Frank was a key figure in Colin Grant`s team which brought a revival to the Club and that side became a top Highland League team constantly challenging for honours. Along with his great mate and sidekick Willie Lawson, they were stalwarts and very loyal to the Club. Many of his team mates and indeed his opponents would rate Frank as the hardest player in the Highland League during this period although Frank would remind them of his 30 yard `wonder` goal in the 82-83 League Cup Final against Elgin at Kynoch Park. I promised him I would get that bit in!”
“He was up to a few games in the past couple of seasons and whilst his health was deteriorating he retained his razor sharp humour and was an extremely popular figure”.
A great player, great team mate and a great man, Frank will be very sorely missed.
  • We’d like to give a big shout out to Peterhead Community Fire Station for the CPR and Defib training given to our club staff this week.
We have a Defibrillator located at the front entrance to Balmoor kindly donated by Peterhead Port Authority and maintained by Angus Cumming and Stuart Connon.

    Team News

    • An update on the managerial role at PFC: there have been a large number of applications submitted for this position and some excellent candidates however the board are not rushing to a decision and are going to take the time to ensure that the correct appointment is made. All at PFC have been impressed with the professionalism shown by Ryan Strachan and Jordon Brown who have stepped up these past few weeks to caretake the team until an appointment is made, it has been a difficult transitional period but they have dedicated themselves to the task in hand and shown great commitment to the club which is to be commended.
    • We take on Queen of the South at Palmerston Park tomorrow, a full preview can be found here.
