Injury Update on Hamish Ritchie

Jul 11, 2022

Peterhead manager Jim McInally has advised that Hamish Ritchie will be attending hospital on Monday for an x-ray on his knee that was injured in Sunday’s Premier Sports Club Group game with Aberdeen.

Ritchie was stretchered off after colliding with the visiting Ross McCrorie with Jim saying: “Hamish had done well to close down the ball. What happened after that was an accident and we were hoping it was just case of knees banging together. That can be sore enough but unfortunately it was worse than that.”

“Hamish will go for an x-ray on Monday to look at what has happened. The Aberdeen medical team were very helpful afterwards and, like us, they believe that an MRI scan will also be needed. We should learn more about that today.”

“Understandably Hamish was pretty distraught afterwards and it put a downer on the whole afternoon for everybody. We can only hope that it is not as serious as feared.
