The draw for the 2022/ 23 Premier Sports Cup took place this afternoon and Peterhead will face Aberdeen for the first time in a competitive game since they joined the Scottish Football League in 2000 and for the first time since a Scottish Cup tie almost one hundred years ago.
The Blue Toon will also meet Raith Rovers, Dumbarton and Stirling Albion in Group A with manager Jim McInally saying: “The Aberdeen game jumps out to anyone connected with Peterhead due to geography and history. It certainly is one that everyone at the club will be looking forward to even though it will be a tough game against a full-time side early in the season.”
“By all accounts Aberdeen are going to be a new look side so it could be a trip into the unknown if we face them first. We have played the other teams in the group in the past couple of years so will know a bit more about them.”

No fixtures for the group have been arranged as yet but here are the five dates that games will be played on with each team having one date off.
