One last reshuffle for the season?

Peterhead could well end their season in a familiar fashion with manager Jim McInally having to reshuffle his pack to deal with injuries.

On-loan Hamilton Accies defender Shaun Want picked up a knock in last weekend’s win over East Fife and is a doubt for Saturday’s encounter at Airdrie with midfielder Andrew McCarthy also struggling with a hamstring injury.

Balmoor boss McInally said: “Shaun has been terrific for us since coming in earlier this year. He has not missed a single minute of any game however he is a doubt for Airdrie. We will be in contact with Hamilton Accies during the week to keep up to date with his progress and it would be great to have him available especially as Jason Brown is also out as he is serving the second game of his two-match ban.”

“We are hoping that we got Andrew off on time at the weekend and that no damage was done to his hamstring. He has played a lot of football this season, probably more than in any time in his career, and we know that he wants to add to that. However. we need to ensure that he is more than ready for what will be a tough game against an Airdrie side who will be looking to keep their long unbeaten run going.”

Jim added: “Missing players, changing line-ups and getting boys to play in various positions have been constant themes all season. We had Gary Fraser out long-term and then when we got him back, we lost David Wilson long term and other boys have had time on the side-lines as well.”

“We have good numbers in our squad and have always adopted a ‘can-do’ approach so that will be the way we go about things at Airdrie.”
