Match Preview – Peterhead v Dumbarton – Hat-trick will not be easy

Feb 26, 2022

Peterhead face Dumbarton for a third time this season and Blue Toon boss Jim McInally knows that securing a hat-trick of wins will not be easy.

Jim said: “We are nearly three quarters of the way through the season in what is a really competitive league. We know by now that every single game is tough but if you play well for the 90 minutes every game is winnable.”

“Dumbarton will come here thinking exactly the same regardless of what has happened in the previous games. They have brought in quite a few experienced players since our last meeting in December so we have to accept that what has happened in the past has no bearing in this one.”

After a fine display in Tuesday night’s draw at Falkirk the manager does not have too many selection concerns as he said: “I have additional players available for this one and I have to be mindful that we have another game on Tuesday but we have played well in our recent games so I will keep changes to a minimum.”

“We turned a chance into a goal on Tuesday and then went on to create loads more chances. If we play like that again but be much more clinical then we can get the three points.”

Team news – New loan signing, Hamilton Accies defender Shaun Want, is added with Ryan Conroy also included after returning to full training this week following a groin injury. Injuries continue to rule out Lenny Wilson, David Wilson, Jason Brown, Gary Fraser and player/coach Simon Ferry.

Lyall Cameron’s loan spell has ended and the attacking minded midfielder has returned to Dundee and subsequently joined Montrose on a temporary basis.
