Three in and three out for Scottish Cup Tie with Dundee

Feb 9, 2022

Peterhead have reached a state of equilibrium ahead of Monday night’s Scottish Cup tie with Dundee at Balmoor with manager Jim McInally adding three players whilst confirming that three players will miss out.

Jim said: “Scott Brown took a blow to his injured ankle during Saturday’s game with Alloa during a brief substitute appearance however he is close to being over that. He should be okay to start on Monday especially as he has a couple of extra days to recover.”

“Also, we have had a specialist look at Hamish Ritchie’s heel problem and he came up with a fix for that so he should be good to go as well. Grant Savoury did not feature at the weekend due to a tight hamstring but again he is feeling a lot better and is part of my plans for facing Dundee.”

“We will have an extra training session on Friday night and a get together over the weekend and all that activity will help ensure that those three are in the best condition possible.”

January signings Owen Cairns, Rico Quitongo and Jack Brown will miss out after playing in the Cup for Fraserburgh, Airdrie and Rothes respectively with Jim saying: “I was aware that these boys would not play in the Cup as they are cup-tied when they signed so their absence is not affecting our plans.”

As for causing a shock and getting to the last eight at the expense of the Premiership club Jim said: “I will have a better idea of what kind of chance we have after watching Dundee at Hearts tonight. I know a good bit about them already however it will be good to see them in action close up.”
