Peterhead v Clyde

Manager’s preview –

Peterhead host Clyde this afternoon with Balmoor boss Jim McInally hoping that his side end the day as the team with an eye on a potential charge towards the play-offs.

The Blue Toon, who did not play last weekend when their game at Queen’s Park was postponed, got the better of the Bully Wee 3-2 back in September with the Broadwood men coming from two down to draw 2-2 last month.

Jim said: “There is very little between the sides as these score-lines confirm. Both teams have gone on runs of winning and drawing games this season and then had spells of narrow defeats.”

“We lost 1-0 to Cove late on in our last game and so did Clyde so both of us want to bounce back. There is also the prize available of moving up to sixth in the table. It would be great to achieve that for two purposes.”

“Firstly, looking down the way Dumbarton and East Fife are playing each other today as well. Winning would push us further away from at least one of them and secondly it would bring the top half of the table into sight.”

“We have not spoken about being in the top-half this season and it would be nice to change that but it will not be easy against Clyde.”

Jim added: “To beat them we have to perform at both ends of the pitch. The two games so far have produced nine goals and that indicates that we need to score twice just to draw. That needs to change so I am looking for us to be a lot meaner in defence this time out whilst keeping the cutting edge that has worked well.”

Team news –

Josh Mulligan and David Wilson are both available again with manager McInally hoping that Flynn Duffy and Grant Savoury both pass fitness tests ahead of kick-off.

With Lenny Wilson side-lined recently signed goalkeeper Conor Cullen is added with Sean Diamond returning to Broughty Athletic at the end of his loan spell.

Jason Brown is suspended with Ryan Conroy, Alan Cook and Gary Fraser remaining out due to injury
