Peterhead manager Jim McInally is hoping that he receives late Christmas present gifts in the shape of four players available after injury for the visit of Cove Rangers on Sunday.
Simon Ferry and Andrew McCarthy, who have been absent since coming off in the first half of the 1-1 draw with East Fife on December 11, are set to be available for action again with skipper Scott Brown also expected back after missing out on last Wednesday’s 2-0 defeat at Montrose.

Jim is also hoping that rest will prove to be the right cure for Grant Savoury who was substituted before half-time against the Gable Endies with the Balmoor boss saying: “We have a training session on Tuesday and it looks like Simon and Andy will both take part in that. If they come through that then they will be in my plans for Cove along with Scott who has shaken off the issue that forced him to miss the Montrose game.”

“Grant is a doubt however we are hoping that getting him off early at Links Park and allowing him to rest will see him okay. He has played a lot of minutes for us since coming in and when you consider that he had not played football for a year due to covid restrictions and a knee injury it is no surprise he was feeling things.”

“It would be great to have all four players in my thoughts for what will no doubt be a tough game against a good Cove Rangers team.”
