Alan Cook’s return from a shin injury has been helped by wearing a ‘big boot’ according to manager Jim McInally. The versatile Cook has been out of action since the Premier Sports Cup tie at Inverness Caledonian Thistle on July 13 due to a shin problem that was eventually identified as a stress fracture last month
As soon as the root cause was identified Alan was ordered to wear a ‘Walking Fracture Boot’ and it is already having an impact with Jim saying: “Alan was checked out last week and he was told that the fracture is healing already. That in small part is due to the ‘big boot’ he is wearing to cut down on the stress experienced on his shin when he is mobile.”
“He is still coming up to training and to games which is great, as he is a lively figure in the squad, but it will be great when we can get him back involved as a player.”
