Peterhead player/coach Simon Ferry could return to match action this weekend when the Blue Toon host Airdrie in League 1 on Saturday.

The experienced Ferry has missed out on the last two games after suffering an ankle injury in the second half of the game at Falkirk on August 7 however the 33 year old has been training this week and despite still receiving treatment manager Jim McInally expects to include Ferry against the Diamonds.

Jim said: “Simon is our most experienced player in both defence and midfield so when he does not play we miss him. He will be getting treatment up until Saturday but the signs are good.”

Lyall Cameron and Derryn Kesson are doubtful however Andrew McCarthy is available with Jim adding: “We will be guided by Dundee over Lyall. He is being assessed by them and at the moment I am not sure he will be involved.”

“The hamstring injury Derryn picked up against Dundee B last midweek is as not bad as first feared. He got a few minutes as a sub last weekend and we are not sure he can play from the start this weekend.”

“Andy was ill at half-time last weekend but wanted to keep playing. Thankfully the illness never came to anything and he will be fine for Saturday.”
