Match Preview – Inverness Caledonian Thistle v Peterhead – New signing could be included

Jul 13, 2021

Peterhead boss Jim McInally says he is wary of facing Inverness Caledonian Thistle tonight at the Caledonian Stadium in the Premier Sports Cup, in what is Billy Dodds’ first game in charge of the Highlanders.

Jim said: “Inverness didn’t play at the weekend, so Billy has had to wait a bit longer to take his team for the first time and he will be well up for it. His players will be out to make a positive impression on him and that makes them even more dangerous opponents.”

“They have added experience in Kirk Broadfoot as well so it will be a tough challenge but one I am looking forward to. We will have Jason Brown and Scott Brown back from suspension and that is good news although Andrew McCarthy is out due to the hamstring injury he picked up.

The Blue Toon lost their opening Group fixture 2-0 to Hearts on Saturday with Jim seeing positives despite not being blown away by his side’s display as he explained: “We did okay against Hearts , and whilst you never want to lose, at least we were competitive. Things had not clicked together for us in our pre-season games however it was better against higher opposition at the weekend especially in the second half.”

“I will be looking for further improvement at Inverness.”

A new face could be included with Jim saying: “The deal to bring in the defender who did well for us in pre-season,  Jadel Musanhu, is almost over the line. It looks like international clearance has come from his former club, City of Liverpool FC and the English FA and if that is the case he will be in our squad tonight.”

Please remember There will be no entry for Away fans for this fixture and Peterhead FC respectfully request that the Blue Toon faithful do not travel to Inverness tomorrow evening.
