Peterhead manager Jim McInally was not surprised to see Dundee United recall on-loan defender Kieran Freeman and Dundee take back their attacker Lyall Cameron because of the suspension of League 1 however the Balmoor boss is hoping that the Blue Toon have not seen the last of the duo.
Freeman has shone in a variety of positions during 14 games with McInally’s side with Cameron bagging three goals during his 15 appearances however with no games scheduled for at least three weeks the duo has returned to their Tayside clubs.
McInally said: “The players were due to be with us for the full season however in line with all these deals there was a break clause during this Transfer Window. Dundee United and Dundee have both used that clause to take their players back and it is difficult to argue against that as we cannot train or play for the rest of this month.”
“We will not be the last club to lose players due to the suspension, it is a side-effect of the decision made by the Scottish FA.”
Jim added: “Thankfully our loan window goes on until the end of February so there is a chance that we could get the boys back for the second half of the season if that suits all parties and the circumstances that we will be training and playing in.”
“I would like that to happen as these loans were working well for everybody as Kieran and Lyall were getting great experience and we had players who were adding value.”
