Dundee youngster Josh Mulligan has been sent to see a specialist over the ankle injury that has limited him to just 9 minutes of football since he joined Peterhead at the start of the season.

Mulligan started for the Blue Toon when they defeated Dundee United 1-0 at Tannadice on Saturday, October 10 however the 17-year-old limped off early after aggravating an ankle problem.

A recent scan revealed the full extent of the problem and Mulligan is working on a recovery programme after consulting a specialist with Balmoor manager Jim McInally keen to get the right sided midfielder back soon.

McInally said: “Josh was a big part of my plans for this season so it has been disappointing to be without him. Having seen the specialist it sounds really promising that he will be back available to us next month which means he has still a lot of the season left to gain a lot of experience with us.”
