The View from the Other Side

Airdrie boss Ian Murray is wary of visitors Peterhead in what is the opening game of League 1 for both sides at Lanarkshire’s Penny Cars Stadium.

Murray said: “There is always excitement when you play your first league game and with a shortened season that excitement comes with a layer of added pressure. Peterhead had a fantastic win at Dundee United last weekend and followed that up with another success against Brechin in midweek so they will be coming here full of confidence.”

“This league is always tight and with only 27 games there is very little margin for error.”

Kilmarnock striker Kyle Connell has been added on-loan by the Diamonds however will be without the injured Ali Roy and Pat Pyott. Dean Ritchie has recovered from a knock sustained in Tuesday night’s 2-0 at Stenhousemuir and is included in Murray’s plans.

You can support Peterhead by taking part in this week’s 50/50 draw which will be made this evening – the details are here – https://peterheadfc.co.uk/2020/10/14/it-does-not-matter-if-peterhead-play-home-or-away-there-will-be-a-virtual-50-50-draw-on-saturday/
