Peterhead Football Club are delighted to announce that they will be bringing Balmoor to the fans by streaming games live online this season whilst crowd restrictions remain in place.
The club has received a grant from the SPFL Trust grant which will be used us to install the equipment that will allow matches to be broadcast with contractors arriving at the ground this week to start the installation works.
Fans will be able to subscribe online to watch games on a pay-per-view basis with Season ticket & Executive ticket holders receiving access free of charge again. Full details of how you can support this will be announced soon.
What we can announce just is the very good news that Peterhead Football Club are making the facility to watch their games Free of Charge to a number of community organisations and individuals.
General Manager Martin Johnston explained: “A number of SPFL clubs are installing the equipment that will allow fans to watch home games on an online pay-per-view basis. Peterhead Football Club however have led the way by allowing those within the Buchan community the opportunity to watch the Blue Toon in the comfort and safety of their own home or residence completely free of charge.“
“We have benefitted from the generosity of philanthropist James Anderson who supported the SPFL Trust, and we wanted to ensure that the Buchan community shared in that generosity.
With the assistance of Cllr Dianne Beagrie we have been able to roll this out to hospitals, nursing homes and hospices, day care centres and to any other individuals who are registered with a whole host of local charities and who operate within the umbrella group “Peterhead Together for Good.”

SPFL Trust Chief Executive Officer Nicky Reid added: “The funding from Mr Anderson is helping trusts and associated clubs across the country in a variety of different ways already. It is fantastic to see Peterhead FC using the funding in such an imaginative way, by giving the comfort and enjoyment of football to people at a time when they may be socially isolated. It’s the reality that many people that are in difficult situations love the sport, but cannot get along to watch their local team for a variety of reasons. This initiative overcomes these hurdles, and allows some of those vulnerable people to benefit from the mental health and wellbeing benefits of watching football.”
