Peterhead manager Jim McInally has thanked everyone who has supported the club by purchasing a ticket for the Super 50/ 50 Draw that is coming to an exciting conclusion this weekend.
Nearly £22,000 has been raised so far with close to £11,000 going to the club and a similar amount being spread across three prizes with the lowest payout being £1,093 at the moment.
Jim is delighted that fans are helping out the club in its time of need as he explained: “The reaction to the draw has been fantastic. The club was in a difficult situation until this draw got backing and it is right that everyone knows how important their support is.”
The Blue Toon boss explained why support was needed: “Peterhead Football Club is quite unique as the football budget is enhanced greatly by the events that are held at Balmoor.”
“The Coffee shop that opened last year was proving a real success and adding well to the contributions made by the well-established functions that are held at Balmoor throughout the week. The summer is usually a busy time at the stadium however events have all been cancelled and that income has been lost.”
“Every ticket bought for the Super 50/ 50 draw has helped us recoup some of that lost income and I thank everyone who has bought one. The total raised so far is heartening to everyone connected with the club and hopefully it will rise a bit further by Saturday.”
Jim added: “Hopefully I will be able to thank people in person soon. The situation in Scotland with Covid-19 is becoming better everyday so fingers crossed we can get back playing in front of everyone soon.”
