Greg moves on

Jun 2, 2020

Peterhead manager Jim McInally has praised goalkeeper Greg Fleming who has left the club after three seasons and thousands of miles.

The 33 year old former Gretna, Oldham, Dunfermline, Chesterfield, Grimsby, Carlisle, Stenhousemuir and Ayr shot-stopper has made round-trips of hundreds of miles from his base in Dumfries to train and play for the Blue Toon however there has now been a parting of the ways.

McInally said: “Greg has played in nearly 130 games for Peterhead since he came here. He has played to a high standard and had a terrific record when it came to saving penalties. When you consider the travelling involved to do that, he has been a fantastic servant to Peterhead.”

“However, things move on and I wish Greg well in the rest of his career. I would imagine that there will be a lot of clubs interested in him.”
