Friday update from Jim

May 9, 2020

Peterhead manager Jim McInally has a growing sense of frustration over the lack of definites in the Scottish game as it is stopping him doing his job.

McInally said: “Normally at this stage of the season I would be speaking to players about next season  in terms of staying at the club, leaving the club, or coming to the club. I cannot do that just now for a number of reasons and there are a lot of worse things going on but it is frustrating.”

“At the moment we do not have a start date and we do not know what decision we will be in. I do not think we will be starting anytime soon but having something to aim for would be nice.”

“As for league reconstruction I still do not know what league we will be in. We are due to be in League 1 as we finished in eighth place and I cannot even think about being forced to go down to an expanded bottom tier if that is chosen.”

McInally added: “I cannot get on with anything just now. The players’ contracts are up in the next few weeks and we need to get clarity before that happens.”
