Aberdeen lifted the Scottish Week challenge cup for the second successive year, but they were made to work for it by a determined Peterhead side.
The Blue Toon have not had their issues to seek through pre-season, with a number of players picking up injuries in the three previous friendly games, however Graeme Sharp, Bobby Mann, Conor Gethins and Neil McVitie all played some part against the Dons.
That meant only Dave Ross missed out against his former club, although the Toon are still short of a central midfielder or two before they hit full-strength.
The Dons came into the game having lost 3-1 to Fraserburgh the day before, but were much improved, although it was still Peterhead who threatened first.
Dons trialist Conor Okus gave the ball away to Dennis Wyness early on, and his delivery to the far post just evaded Martin Bavidge, who threw himself at the ball.
A few minutes later, Graeme Sharp delivered for the same man, but Bavidge's header was comfortably dealt with by Mark Howard in the Aberdeen goal.
The best Aberdeen could muster in the early stages was a neat combination between another trialist, Adnan Ahmed, and new signing Josh Magennis, but Ahmed's cross was easy for Paul Jarvie to claim.
Dons keeper Howard was tested again when Wyness turned a Moore free kick towards goal, but the former St Mirren keeper blocked well from his former team-mate.
However, as time wore on, more of the action began to come at the other end, and Jarvie had to be well-positioned to deny Okus after the midfielder got on the end of a Grant Basey cross from the left.
And the improving Dons threatened again when the pacy Magennis burst away from Callum Macdonald, but the danger was quickly snuffed out.
Just before the interval, Okus let fly from 25 yards, his effort not all that far off target, and certainly giving Jarvie something to think about.
Six minutes after the restart, Dons substitute Robbie Williams had a pop from even further out, but Jarvie was able to beat the former Huddersfield man's effort away from the top corner.
As Peterhead's squad began to tire, and with the visitors having used a number of substitutes, the Dons began to get a grip of the game and took the lead on the hour.
Mitchell Megginson turned inside Davie Donald, before curling a beautiful strike beyond the helpless Jarvie and into the far corner of the net.
Peterhead weren't disheartened though, and Bavidge went on a neat run by Jerel Ifil, and Ryan Jack, however the move broke down when Sharp couldn't find a target in the box.
Mark McGhee's men were on the prowl for a second goal, and only good saves in quick succession from Jarvie denied Megginson and Richard Foster, both from close range.
A second goal finally came with four minutes remaining, as Donald brought down Dons youngster Clark Robertson in the area, and Michael Paton stepped up to send Jarvie the wrong way.
The Blue Toon face their first competitive action against Montrose in the Alba Cup on Saturday, so will be concerned about injuries picked up by McVitie, Mann and Moore in this game.
