Peterhead have been rewarded for their Alba Cup win over Montrose with a tie against another Third Division side.

Jim McInally’s East Stirlingshire will be opponents for the Blue Toon, who blew away the Gables Endies with a 5-0 victory at Balmoor on Saturday.

Shire will face another long trip after taking care of Stranraer in Saturday’s first round, albeit after extra-time.

Reacting to the draw, boss Neale Cooper told the website "I’m pleased to have a home draw. East Stirling are a good side but to have a lower league side at home, you can’t really ask for any more.

"We’ve avoided some of the bigger teams in the completion but 'Shire have done well in recent years so we'll be nothing but professional in our approach and hopefully have a chance to progress."

The draw in full is:

  • Queen's Park v Forfar Athletic
  • Ayr United v Cowdenbeath
  • Ross County v Morton
  • Partick Thistle v Berwick Rangers
  • Dunfermline Athletic v Queen of the South
  • Stenhousemuir v Dundee
  • Peterhead v East Stirlingshire
  • East Fife v Stirling Albion

Ties to be played August 10/11
