A five star performance from the Blue Toon see  then ease past Montrose in the 1st round of the ALBA Challenge Cup at Balmoor.

Dennis Wyness got his Peterhead career off to the best possible start scoring on 7 minutes but it wasn’t until after the break that the Toon extended their lead when Stephen McNally stabbed the ball into the roof of his own net following a powerful header from Callum Macdonald on 50 minutes.

Wyness added Peterhead’s third and his second following some great build up play on 56 minutes Paul Emslie scored the fourth after 66 minutes with a early contender for goal of the season, striking the ball from over 40 yards to beat Bennett in the Montrose goal.

Martin Bavidge rounded off the scoring with 15 minutes to go taking the ball past the Montrose keeper and finishing from close range.
